There is a travel pass that can make your trip in Korea much more convenient.
It is called EBL Pass (Express Bus Lines Pass) and an easy transportation pass for free travel, which lets you ride on an express bus all you want.

'Rail Ro' is an easy pass that allows unlimited use of the train and is available for purchase only for those aged 25 and below.

The EBL pass, on the other hand, is an easy pass for unlimited use of the express bus that anyone can buy regardless of age.



■ Ticketing Deadline : No Constraints
■ Effective Period : From the day of reservation of the EBL Pass until four days after (excluding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
■ Type of issuance : Paper ticket, SMS message
■ Available vehicles : Premium, night, and regular bus all from 8 different companies(Geumho, Dongbu, Dongyang, Samhwa, Sokrisan, Jungang, Cheonil, Hanil).
■ Available for : Everyone (no restriction in terms of age)
■ Price : 75,000won
■ Notes
- Only the pass holder may board (the pass may not be turned over to another party)
- It is limited to the effective dates
- You may not use the same line more than once a day (ex. When you have completed your round-trip from Seoul to Dongdaegu, the pass is ineffective for another round trip on the same line)
- The paper pass may not be reissued, but SMS pass may be reissued once (1)
- The pass cannot be used from 00AM to 6AM on Mondays since it’s ongoing office hours.

Ayang Railroad Bridge

Ayang railroad bridge, a tourist attraction well-known for its amazing sunrise view, is built on top of an old bridge in the Geumho River. The place is perfect for watching sunrise and sunset in the clear and fair sky.



Moreover, a sunrise festival is held in the Sunrise Park nearby and you might want to go and enjoy the event after watching the first sunrise of 2016.

Get to the Palgong Mountain top using the cable car and face the first sun of the year. The cable car will start operating at 6am on New Year day itself.

1. Choi Yong Seok’s Sweet Melonppang

Choi Yong Seok’s Sweet Melonppang near Myeongduk Station is one of the famous bakeries in Daegu. It is located 3 min walk from the exit 2 of Myeongduk Station so you can get to the bakery by monorail(subway line 3) or subway line 2 easily.
This bakery is also famous and popular in Japan. It is called ‘Japan’s representative bread’ because it is beloved by many Japanese people over 100 years.



The bakery has maple melonppang, coconut melonppang, soboro melonppang and more served at reasonable prices. The price range is 1,000won to 3,000won per bun.
The most buns are named ‘melon’ because the buns look like a melon. 
They usually open from 7:00am to 19:30pm but the buns can be sold out earlier. You should visit here in early morning.

2. Geundae Golmok Danpatppang 

In Yakjeon Street of Daegu, you can find the sweet redbean buns of Geundae Golmok Danpatppang! Danpatppang means sweet redbean bun in Korean.
There are so many people missing the taste of the sweet redbean buns that they used to eat with milk during the 1960s and 1970s. This is why many sweet redbean bun stores are opening recently in Korea. 



The bakery’s breads are mostly buns with red bean paste, including Redbean bun with cream, Redbean bun with green tea cream, Vegetables bun, and Soboro bun with red bean. The price range is 2,000won to 3,000won per bun.

3. Bbang-jangsu Danpatppang

Bbang-jangsu is also famous for sweet redbean bun. 
There are several breads, including green tea cream cheese bun, corn cream bun, redbean bun, cream redbean bun, and Sweet potato filled bun. This bakery is where you can taste fresh bread everyday as their breads undergo 72 hours of low-temperature ripening to deepen the flavor.
They have many stores in Daegu. As such, they are easily accessible since there are already three stores near Dongseongro - the center of Daegu.

The croquettes can easily be sold out early since the bakery sells only a fixed amount per day in order to maintain their freshness.

5. Gachang Jjinppang Street 


Gachang, a suburb of Daegu is famous for Gachang Jjinppang. 
You’ll see an array of steamed bun stores lining up all the way to Gachang Spa Valley. This Gachang Jjinppang street had been featured in TV shows, newspapers, and magazines several times making it famous nationwide.



Jjinppang is a steamed bun stuffed with sweet red bean paste.
You will also can try Mandu(dumplings) made by hand not only jjinppang(steamed buns) in the street. 



The main menu items are Jjinppang, Wangmandu(big dumpling), Jjinmandu(steamed dumpling), and Kimchi mandu(Kimchi dumpling). The Jjinppang and Wangmandu is usually 3,000 per five pieces.

6. Samsong Bbangjip

Samsong Bbangjip(bakery) which used to be called Samsong Bakery has changed their store’s name recently.
This particular bakery has a very long history since its foundation in 1957. It is so famous that everyone knows about their ‘Mayakppang(addictive corn breads)’.



The main items here are mayakppang and cream cheese chewy bun, Vegetables croquette, and Korean native cattle croquette. They are not fried with oil but baked with a weak fire.

Daegu has a very unique and unusual museum!
It is the Daegu Police History Experience Hall.



Daegu Jungbu Police Station, the first and only police station that has the place where you can explore police cells, operates a Police History Experience Hall by utilizing an old detention center.
It offers exhibitions police stuff which is related to the work and history of Korean Police as well as various hands-on experiences since it opened in 2011.

Experience activities which involve experience of jail which just looks the same with the real one and forensic science experience are possible here. 


It is an interesting place for adults also it provides fun and easy education such as getting fingerprints and footprints on paper, using radios and watching the policy public relations films for children.

The experience hall is divided into two floors.


First floor has memorial hall, costume exhibit hall, jail experience hall, visitor’s room experience hall, police uniform experience hall and forensic science experience hall. 


And history hall, weaponry exhibit hall, media hall, crime guidance exhibit hall, memorial hall are in the second floor. The exhibition halls display police, weapons, equipment and other materials explaining the history of Daegu police.
