Daegu became the new city of Track and Field

People in Daegu cheered on March 27 as they learned of their selection over rival cities Brisbane and Moscow to host the 13th World Championships in Athletics.

Finally, Daegu successfully held the big festival from Aug 27 to Sep 3 at Daegu Stadium.

On Nov 12, World Athletics Gala was held in Monaco in celebration of Daegu’s successful host of IAAF World Championships 2011.

At the gala, IAAF chose Daegu city as the new international city of Track and Field and gave a glorious IAAF Athletics Trophy to it.

Daegu became the second city that won the IAAF Athletics Trophy ever in IAAF World Championships history.
