The 10th Palgongsan Cherry Blossom Festival


The final hurrah of Daegu’s cherry blossom celebration can be found at Palgongsan Mountain. Whereas cherry blossoms in most parts of Daegu have dropped to the ground already, the tress in the mountainside has just started to reach full bloom last weekend.

Biseulsan Azalea Festival

Daegu Yangnyeongsi Herbal Medicine Culture Festival
Yangnyeongsi refers to a herbal medicine market. The beginning of Daegu Yangnyeongsi dates back to Joseon Dynasty. It is the oldest of its kind. It still exists in the heart of downtown. Each spring, Daegu holds a festival to celebrate the rich culture. Some of the main events of the festival includes learning 200 kinds of herbal medicine products, Find golden Kyungbokgo(restorative herb medicine), Oriental Medicinal Herb Triathlon and the Street Parade.

Dongseongro Festival
A great time to visit Daegus downtown, Dongseongro, is when its festival is taking place! If you dont mind bustling crowd, you will love the energy and things happening throughout the days. Booths for events, promotions, snack and caricature are lined up from CGV(Hanil branch) to Samduk Police Station. From singing contest to dance, a variety of performances will surely capture your attention for a while.

Coreopsis field at Sunrise Park
If you are leaning towards natural scene. Check out Sunrise Park located near Dongchon Resort. The park starts to get covered by bright yellow coreopsis beginning the mid May. This flower blooms through June and a signal that summer is coming soon!

Inheung Village

Inheung village is Mun(or Moon)'s family village. Nampyeong Mun clan moved to Daegu 500 years ago and settled in Inheung in the 19th century. You can see from its popular family library that the family took education seriously.

Otgol Village


Gyeongju Choi clan’s village is best known for its 350-year old zelkova tree and two huge pagoda trees that are as old as the zelkova. Earthen walls and stone walls of the houses create a distinctive atmosphere of hanok village. The old village started in 1616 in the mid Joseon era.

Myogol Village & Yuksin Ancestral Temple



Myogol Village is Suncheon Park Clan’s residential area. Inside around the village have many historically important buildings. One of them was also featured in a novel, Toji, by Park Kyongni, Korea’s renowned writer.
