If you go up to the second floor of the Cultural Center,

you can see the hallway where pictures are put on display.

Here, there are pictures of artists and residents of

Hyangchon-dong that allows us to reminisce its past.

Messages from those who remember Hyangchon-dong and those

who want to preserve it are also on display,

so it would be good to give it a read!

Next is the street where restaurants and "dabangs",

or what we used to call cafes, of Hyangchon-dong are gathered🥘

These were places that became a hideout for people

when they had a hard time during their time of refuge.

The restaurants reproduced in this exhibition are based on where they actually existed.

Next, you can see Hyangchon-dong that functioned as the cradle of popular culture, with

films and theatre being produced even in difficult times.

"Munhwa Geukjang", or Cultural Theater, the national theater during the fleeing period,

and the Orient Record Inc., the vein of Korean music in the 1950s, are both reproduced

 in this set.

Among the 10 films produced in Daegu at the time, you can also watch a shortened

version of the Sun's Street, which is the only film left.

Aren't you curious about the movies from that time?📼

At the last permanent exhibition on the second floor, you can see artifacts donated by

residents who have experienced the history of downtown Daegu.

We can have a meaningful time to look back on the past history through the lives of our

neighbors.

If you are curious about the history of Daegu, come to the Hyangchon Cultural Center

where you can experience the nostalgia of Hyangchon-dong!
