[EVENT] A Gourmet Paradise, Daegu’s Food Alleys (Vol. 1)

#Daegu #Visitdaegu #Delightdaegu

Hello, everyone!

As autumn, the season of “the high sky and plump horses”, approaches

I feel like my appetite is coming back to life 🍂

One of the many reasons for traveling is

to experience the culinary culture of the country or region

and more importantly, try it out in your own taste buds 🍽

Of course, there are many different and delicious foods in Daegu, too!

Today, we give you the food alleys (Meokja Golmok)

that are must-visit tourist destinations when you travel to Daegu 😋

1. 🍗Affordable and Generous! Pyeonghwa Market Chicken Gizzard Alley

(炸雞, タットンチプ(砂肝炒め))🍗

Location: 1339-39 Sinam-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu

✅Public Transportation: 20-min walk from Exit 3, Dongdaegu Station (Daegu Metro Line 1)

If you enter the Pyeonghwa Market near Dongdaegu Station,

you will find the Chicken Gizzard Alley filled with savory oil smell.

Chicken Gizzard Alley, which started in 1972 and has a history of 50 years,

has recently emerged as a luxury theme street.

Using the mascots, Chickie and Ppasak,

they built a younger and more attractive food alley 💖

Restaurants in the Chicken Gizzard Alley sell

Fried Chicken and Chicken Gizzard as the main menu, as the name goes.

Chicken Gizzards are usually served deep-fried in Korea,

and it is known to go well with alcoholic beverages. 🍺

There are various menus, but the most classic menu is “Ban-ban Chicken,”

or half fried and half seasoned!

If you're wondering what menu you want to try,

We recommend you the “Ban-ban Chicken”.

With a cold drink, the hot fried chicken and chicken gizzards

will relieve you of all the travel fatigue.

If you're looking for good restaurants near Dongdaegu Station, please visit the alley 🙌

2. 🍖Daegu’s Specialty, Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi Alley🍖

Location: Dongin-dong 1-ga, Jung-gu, Daegu

✅ Public Transportation: 19-min walk from Exit 4, Daegu Station (Daegu Metro Line 1)

15-min walk from Exit 4, Gyeongdae Hosipital Station (Daegu Metro Line 2)

If you walk up a little bit from the National Debt Repayment Movement Memorial Park,

you will find Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi (Braised Short Rib) Alley.

Dongin-dong Jjimgalbi Alley’s Jjimgalbi (Braised Short Rib)

is Daegu’s Local food and Soul food 😇

This Daegu-style jjimgalbi has several characteristics.

First, while the common jjimgalbi uses soy sauce as the main seasoning,

the Daegu style jjimgalbi is seasoned with red pepper powder to give a spicy taste. 🌶

Secondly, Daegu style Jjimgalbi is also called 'Pot Jjimgalbi'

because it is cooked in a nickel silver pot.

Jjimgalbi, with its combination of chewy meat and spicy and sweet seasoning,

attracts many people's taste buds.

Especially, after finishing your meat,

to enjoy jjimgalbi to its maximum,

you have to mix rice with the sauce and finish it up! 🍚

If you like spicy food, you should give it a try!

Today's posting introduced two famous food alleys in Daegu.

We'll meet you in the second post with

other alleys with their own specialties!💗
