Apsan, Daegu's tourist attraction that opens up!



Hi, everyone! Do you know Mt. Apsan, a mountain located in Daegu?

Mt. Apsan is located in Nam-gu, Daegu. 

Here, you can escape from the summer heat among the trees during the day, and with the unobstructed scenery during the night. With plenty of attractions and snacks, it’s one of the most popular destinations in Daegu for foreign tourists!

In today’s post, let’s spend a day at Mt. Apsan together!

We’ll introduce to everything, from the Apsan Café Street, Anjirang Gopchang Street to the Apsan Sunset Observatory.


1.    ☕ Daegu, the City of Coffee. Apsan Café Street🍰

Daegu has the largest number of coffee shops per capita in Korea, earning its name as the  City of Coffee. Daegu is well-known for coffee since it has approx. 3,500 cafés: That’s 1 per 270 households, one of the highest per capita rates in Korea. Additionally, it holds annual Coffee & Café fair and exhibitions, proving itself as the City of Coffee, once again.


And near Mt. Apsan, there is a café street where lots of famous cafés can be found.

Today, we give you two of the most famous ones.



1)    HANDS COFFEE

The first one is ‘HANDS COFFEE’, a brand-new café that recently opened up.
It’s a spacious café with a relaxed atmosphere, located on the 1st and 5th floors of a building.
As you can see from the photo, the café is justifiably well known for its rooftop terrace on the 5th floor which offers a panoramic view of Mt. Apsan.

HANDS COFFEE is a popular destination, offering fragrant coffee and a harmonized scenery of Mt. Apsan and the city view offered by the 83 Tower.

Observatory 🌄

In a five-minute travel by taxi from Apsan Café Street, Or after a 10~15 minute walk from Daemyeong Station (Daegu Subway Line 1), Exit. 2, you can get to Apsan Sunset Observatory.

Located in Apsan Pallaeteo Park, Nam-gu, the Apsan Sunset Observatory offers you the opportunity to capture stunning views of Daegu along with beautiful sunsets.

Encapsulating the history and symbolism of the Apsan Pallaeteo Park (*pallaeteo=laundry place), the observatory is shaped like laundry being wrung.

The slope up to the observatory is a perfect place for a quality stroll as it affords panorama of Mt. Apsan and its surroundings.

Gopchang and Makchang are the grilled intestines of pigs or cattle,

and are some of the most typical Korean side dish for drinking.
