Introduction to Daegu Walking Course that is Good for Walking

    There are many leisurely walking trails in Daegu. From Songhae Park to the Hwawon Recreation Area and Samunjin Naru tavern village, We’d like to introduce you to Daegu’s walking trails for tourists. For those who like to walk or do outdoor activities, we recommend you to go for a walk in these trails!

1.    Songhae Park

Location: 306 Gise-ri, Okpo-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu

Admission fee: Free




    Our first trail start at Songhae Park. Songhae Park is famous for its colorful and pretty flowers differently every season. As of early May, when the picture was taken, golden waves and Fringe trees bloomed very beautifully.



    Songhae Park was named after Songhae, one of the best Korean MCs, and an honorary citizen of Dalseong-gun. Inside the park, you can see his caricatures and signs with song lyrics.



    There are various attractions such as the Decked-Dullegil, the Baeknyeon Underwater Bridge, a Pinwheel Rest Area, and an observatory. The Okyeonji Songhae Park Dulle-gil is an ecological site where you can closely observe the natural beauty of the Okyeonji area.



    While taking a stroll in Songhae Park, you will see many families and lovers. Songhae Park is a walking trail for everyone and a place for relaxation for Daegu citizens.



    Various attractions blend well with the surrounding natural scenery, adding another layer of fun while taking a walk.




    If you go on a fine day, especially on a sunny day in May, you can get great pictures like these. Make sure to visit and enjoy the wonderful natural scenery of Daegu 😊


    2.    Hwawon Recreation Area

Location: 40-14 Samunjin-ro 1-gil, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu

Operation hours: 06:00-21:00

Admission fee: Free

* Due to the construction work, the Hwawon Garden is closed until the end of March 2023.




    After taking a stroll in Songhae park, the Hwawon Recreation Area nearby, within 10 minutes travel distance by taxi. The Hwawon Recreation Area is one of the popular parks in Daegu, located in Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu. Here, you can experience urban nature and enjoy the scenery of the Nakdonggang River. Featuring many attractions and amenities such as a zoo, an observatory, a lawn plaza, and a fountain, it is a perfect place for family tourists with children.


    You can also enjoy picnics in the large lawn plaza. 
Imagine having a picnic with delicious food under a clear sky at the Hwawon Recreation Area, doesn’t it sound great? Take a break while enjoying natural scenery and some profile picture worth photos!


    3.    Samunjin Naru Tavern Village

Location: 744-11 Seongsan-ri, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu

Operation hours: 11:30 to 18:30

Closed Every Mondays

    As you walk around the Hwawon Recreation Area, you’ll eventually reach the highlight of the trail, Samunjin Naru Tavern Village. For you who walked diligently, it’s time to eat!



    Samunjin Naru Jumak Village was renovated in November 2013. 
On a site of 2,600 sqm, the Jumak Village now features three hanok taverns, with a nettle tree in the background. Its antique atmosphere make you feel as if you were in a historical drama set.


    Currently, along with the 500-year-old nettle tree, there are Giant Piano Jangseungs, a Duck Sotda, the First Piano Monument, the Imjaeomneun nareutbae (A ferry boat without owner) filming location monument, Poetry Lamps, Sejokdaes, a Floating Marina, and a piano square.


    More than anything, various foods such as banquet noodles, gukbap, buchu jeon 
(leek pancake), and tofu are sold in the tavern village.

    Order what you want to eat, receive food, and then at the table, enjoy the food and the scenery of the sunset in Samunjin.

    Samunjin Naru tavern village features various traditional Korean foods at a low price, one of its strengths. Today, we took a look at the Daegu walking trails, from Songhae Park to the Samunjin Naru tavern village.
