Starting with "Chungbuk Gopchang Grandmother", who captivated the common people's tastes with seasoned Gopchang near the market in 1980, 10 seasoned Gopchang stores were formed on the outer road of Anjirang Market during the IMF in 1997. In particular, since 2000, the number of stores from Anjirang Ogeori to Anjirang Market has increased rapidly, and now about 50 stores have been formed.

It is said that it has been selected as one of the top five food theme streets nationwide and one of the top 100 Korean tours by the Korea Tourism Organization.

The "Anjirang Gopchang Youth Street Festival" is held every year to express gratitude to customers and nearby residents. In order to enjoy the beauty and taste of Gopchang Alley, not only Daegu citizens but also domestic and foreign visitors continue to increase, and it is becoming a youth street where young people can enjoy it without any burden.

Anjirang Gopchang Alley was selected as the "best restaurant of the year" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in 2020, and Anjirang Gopchang Alley is playing a role in promoting the consumption of local specialties and revitalizing the restaurant industry.

Grilled makchang, served here, is one of the 10 Tastes of Daegu and is a specialized dish unique to Daegu that is difficult to see anywhere in the country. Daegu Makchang-gui, which has been popular in Daegu since the early 1970s, is also popular with young people as a snack that goes well with soju. The taste of specially prepared soybean paste sauce, garlic, and chives is one of the delicacies.
