Samjeong Restaurant in Daegu: Spicy Korean BBQ Meets Fried Eggs!

 



The hidden restaurant to introduce this time is "Samjeong Dolsotbap Haemultang", or simply said "Samjeong Sikdang", located in Wolseong-dong, which may seem like a simple seafood stew restaurant by name, but the most beloved menu of this restaurant is Jumuleok, spicy Korean BBQ. It's a famous restaurant loved by local residents for more than 20 years.

Samjeong Restaurant is located in Wolseong-dong, Daegu. It is one of Daegu's old stores that have been in business for more than 27 years. On the outside of the store, it was written in large letters, Samjeong Stone Pot Rice and Samjeong Seafood Soup, which stood out and told us the years of old tiles.'



Looking at the menu, the price of the menus except stir-fried squid was unified at 9,000 won. All menus include hot-pot rice as a default and can be ordered for more than two people. Since Samjeong Restaurant is rumored to be a "jumuleok" among acquaintances, I followed the rumor and ordered two servings.



After ordering, ordinary side dishes consisting of boiled black beans, kimchi, and fried fish cakes were placed on the table first. Among them, there is one thing that stands out among ordinary side dishes: raw eggs. On this day, the eggs will blend with the main menus of Samjeong Restaurant in a little while to bring a extraordinary taste.


A Hot pot rice and Sungnyung (scorched rice tea) were prepared with the main menu, Jumuluk, and first of all, hot steam was blooming and giving off a savory smell. The owner explained that Sungnyung is used to mix it with scorched rice after eating hot-pot rice.


Here comes the main menu! At first glance, the ordinary kneading was sizzling with a bright red seasoning, stimulating five senses. With pork neck as the center, let's wait for it to cook by stirring with chopsticks with a stir-fried spoon with an appropriate amount of ingredients for a meal such as onions, garlic, green onions, and red pepper powder.


When the stir-fried rice is almost cooked, the egg was beaten on the grill on the day it was served as a side dish, and depending on your taste, you can cook it with stir-fried rice or mix it with hot stone pot rice. When the eggs are cooked, it is finally the time to eat. 
First of all, I tasted a big bite of the stir-fried rice cake. Along with the spicy and sweet seasoning, the marinated garlic at Samjeong Restaurant, where the garlic scent lingers in your mouth, was a food that harmonized well with the stone pot rice and made you continue to face chopsticks.



After eating enough stir-fried fish and stone pot rice, I poured Sungnyung over the scorched rice as explained by the owner and tasted it, and when I swallowed the fresh Sungnyung behind the salty stir-fried rice, my mouth felt clean like a dessert.
Samjeong Dolsotbap Haemultang needs to be searched as "Samjeong Restaurant" when searching on the portal site. When you visit the restaurant, don't wander around because there is no Samjeong Restaurant, but visit the Dolsotbap Haemultang as shown in the picture above to taste its own! You won't regret it.
