Former Samsung Chairman, the late Lee Kun-hee who died in October 2020, was also well-known as an art lover before becoming an entrepreneur. Today, we are going to learn about the "Welcome Home Festival," an exhibition of works donated by the bereaved family of Chairman Lee Kun-hee's collection. Let's take a look at the late Lee Kun-hee's art collections.

<Lee Kun-hee Collection, Welcome Home Festival>

Daegu Art Museum, which opened in May 2011, is holding exhibitions focusing on various themes and artists in accordance with the vision of Daegu and the world, Daegu Art Museum that embraces the present and the future.

When you arrive at the Daegu Art Museum, you will see posters on display. You can see that exhibitions such as <Welcome Home Exhibition>, <Playground for Poetry>, <2021 Dartist, Cha Gye-nam> are currently in progress.

Shall we take a look at the <Welcome Home> exhibition? The exhibition, which runs for two months from June 29 to August 29, is available in the Daegu Art Museum's Exhibition Room 4,5. You can enjoy a total of 40 different works, including 21 donated works and 20 collections of Daegu Art Museum.

In part of the exhibition, Lee Kun-hee's book, <Let's Think About the World>, showed his ideology. Throughout the years, I was able to read his thoughts through writing.

"In the past, we invented something and something for the first time in the world.Furthermore, it is meaningful to say that we are hundreds of years ahead of the West, but it is more important to know whether there is the color of our culture today and what our cultural identity is to put forward in the world."

Also, through this exhibition, Lee Kun-hee's artworks expand the power of the cultural and artistic fields by creating cultural heritage of the entire society and appreciating it together. 

Today, we learned about the special exhibition, "Lee Kun-hee Collection, Welcome Home Festival" currently on display at the Daegu Museum of Art.
