Today, I prepared a healing place to bring peace in my heart, which is Donghwasa Temple in Daegu located in Palgongsan Mountain.

Donghwasa Temple

Donghwasa Temple in Daegu is the largest temple in Daegu located in Palgongsan Mountain. It is a temple with a long tradition of about 1500 years, and it was named 'Donghwa' after seeing the flower of a paulownia tree in full bloom around the temple even in the middle of winter.

Donghwasa Temple has a large parking space, so you can visit it by car, but if you get off at the bus stop in front of the entrance of Donghwasa Temple for about 10 minutes, you can walk while looking at the picturesque scenery beyond the Donghwasa Gate. From the entrance, the smell of fragrant grass surrounds the surrounding area, and the green scenery seems to have entered a picture.

There are Daeungjeon Hall and Bongseo-ru, the center of this place. The shrine where the Buddha statue is enshrined in the temple is called Daewoongjeon, and Donghwasa Temple's Daewoongjeon Hall is designated as Treasure No. 1563.

And on the left side of the commentator's house, there is an advocacy letter to go to the Unification Pharmacist Yeorae Daebul. The Unified Pharmacist Buddha Buddha is a huge Buddha statue with a height of about 33M and a circumference of 16.5M. On the opposite side of the Unification Pharmacist Yeorae Daebul, there is the Unification Daejeon, which was built to pray for the unification of the two Koreas, and the Seongbo Museum, which houses various cultural assets and cultural centers, is underneath it. The Sungbo Museum is currently closed due to the coronavirus, but I recommend you visit it if you have a chance.

In addition, there is a temple stay program at Palgongcholim Donghwasa Temple Training Center where you can experience various experiences such as temple etiquette, making wish lanterns, Balwoo-gongyang, and meditation, so if you are interested, you can apply.

If you have enough time, I recommend you to visit Daegu Safety Theme Park, a famous place around Donghwasa Temple. It's a good place to be alert to various disasters such as subways, feng shui, earthquakes, mountain accidents, and fires. There is also a safety accident prevention game for children, so it's perfect for a family outing with children.
