Daegu Exhibition:: Choi Jeong-hwa and

The Daegu Museum of Art, which opened in May 2011, connects Daegu with the world.

As a vision to embrace the present and future of Daegu, they actively support exhibitions and creative programs related to Daegu's community.

In particular, Choi Jeong-hwa's <Kabbala>, which has been released since July at the Mother Hall of the Daegu Museum of Art, is a work for Daegu citizens who overcame Corona 19 in 2020 and became a mature citizen.

The Daegu Museum of Art, located near Daegu Stadium, was opened in 2011. It was created with 3 floors above ground and 1 basement level for the cultural welfare of Daegu citizens.

Currently, the museum operates a 100% pre-booking system for the prevention of corona 19 infection and the safety of visitors. Reservations can be made through Interpark tickets : )


Currently, the Daegu Art Museum operates a garden system with pre-booking system for safe viewing. Unbooked people are not allowed to enter and are restricted to groups of five or more. In addition, when you are entering, they are preparing an heat check and you have to write electronic entry list using the QR code, so please refer to it.


<Kabbala> by Choi Jeong-hwa, which has been released since July this year at the Mother Hall of the Daegu Museum of Art, is a red and green color that can be found in any Korean house.
It is a large 16m installation art made of 5,376 plastic basket pieces.
Choi Jeong-hwa, an artist representing contemporary Korean art, collects, builds, and combines various objects around life.

The etymology of "Kabbala" refers to the basis of Jewish mysticism. When alchemist in the past used to make cheap materials into gold, they discovered many useful materials. Choi Jeong-hwa also found a plastic basket which easily accessible in human life, turn in to a great modern art.

Sharing the times, empathizing with art! Made in Daegu II



<Made in Daegu II>, which is being held at the first exhibition hall of the Daegu Museum of Art, focuses on the sincerity of contemporary artists who shared the times and sympathized with each other for 50 years from the 1970s to the present in Daegu.





A total of eight artists, including Kwak Hoon and Kwon Jung-ho, will participate in <Made in Daegu II>, where visitors can watch about 400 paintings, installation art, prints, videos and archives, and visitors can enjoy various works that delight their eyes and ears with commentary!

On weekends and holidays, they are holding a total of three exhibition presentations at 10:00, 14:00, and 16:00.
It starts at the 1st Exhibition Hall without any request, so please refer to it.


Through this exhibition, we shared the similarities between those who had different artistic tendencies and ways of expression. It intend to find passion for art as a writer, and sincerity in art.



The eight artists who participated in the exhibition reflect the diversity of the media in modern art. Although each work has different tastes, themes, expressions, and genres, it continues the challenging and adventurous spirit of Daegu's "Daegu Contemporary Art Festival."



You can see a variety of works by contemporary artists who inherited the spirit of the unprecedented avant-garde art struggle in the Gangbo area of Daegu.
