What makes a winter trip special is a
spectacular ice view like Songhae Park’s! Songhae Park is a very spacious park
including areas surrounding Okyeonji Lake.
Near the North edge of the lake is located
the infamous Ice Wall! This is obviously winter-only treat when you get
yourself out of that warm comforter.
This stunning ice wall created on a mountain
cliff is attracting thousands of tourists each day despite the frightening cold
weather.
If you would like to make your visit, come to
parking lot 3 or 4 and you will be able to access to the ice wall within a few
minutes.
If you dare, challenge yourself to climb the
Cloud Bridge 구름다리,
which generally refers to a bridge that moves when you walk on it. This
particular one does not move that much but the height underneath it makes it
pretty scary!
On a side note, the park was named after this
gentleman, a wildly famous TV personality, Songhae. His wife was from Okpo-ri,
where the park is, and it became his second hometown since he could never
re-visit his first which is in North Korea.

There are more to this park, walk along the
trail and you will find Baeksegyo(100-year-old Bridge, the bridge is brand-new
tho!), which symbolizes the prosperity and longevity.
