Historical & Cultural Destination In Korea - International Oriental Medicine Market 'Daegu Yangnyeongsi' Tour

Daegu Yangnyeongsi Tour

Daegu Travel organized a FAM Tour in Yangnyeongsi, a very special place in Daegu where you can get in the world of Oriental Medicine. Just in the center of the city there is this fantastic street that for years was an international market were herbal medicines were sold.

The tour started at Cheongchoon Salon, 1st basement-level of Gift shop building where we had a clear explanation about the process of making beer, which takes around 4 weeks to be completed. We tasted two kinds of beer, both of them delicious.

Then was time for a tasty lunch, Samgyetang which is a warm soup and chicken, It is especially popular to eat this chicken soup on Sambok (삼복) days, which are three distinct days of the lunar calendar — Chobok (초복), Jungbok (중복), and Malbok (말복).

Lunch time was also perfect for knowing the rest of the people in the tour, and share experiences living in the nice city of Daegu.

The hanbok(traditional costume of Korea) experience of Modern History Hall 'GyesanYega' was waiting for us, just only few meters from the Oriental Medicine Museum you can rent this traditional outfit and feel transported in time walking on Yangnyeongsi street.

But Daegu had something especial for us that day, we saw together the first snow in the city, it was great to see the small snowflakes falling among friends who started playing under them.

It was time for getting inside the Oriental Medicine Museum, a place that shows the importance of traditional medicine which base is the herbal treatment. In one of its spaces we could see how to decorate cup cakes and then try ourselves the best design in an improvised contest, which was very funny.

So you can not miss the Yangnyeongsi when you travel in Daegu!! ☺
