Today, Daegu Travel introduces 'Old Guam Seowon' in Daegu for a trip to Seowon. The old Guam Seowon can be found at the center of city. It was built by Dalsung’s Seo clan to honor the values of teacher Se Chim. It is located at an old residential area in Dongsandong, Jung-gu and the sharp steeple of Daegu’s Jeil church can be seen on the west side.

Guam Seowon first started on the year 1675 in the south west of Yeongu Mountain where they built Sunghyunsa and held memorial service for teacher Se Chim. This place is now Daegu Elementary school. In 1718, it moved to its current location in Dongsandong.

At present, it is used as a place where you can experience traditional culture, Hanok accommodation(traditional Korean house where in you can stay for a night) and also experience traditional weddings. It is a good idea to stay overnight and enjoy the cultural experiences.

Another perfect idea for the trip is visiting Cheongna Hills, Gyesan Catholic Church, Daegu Yangyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine, Yak-jun Street, and Jin Street. The old Guam Seoweon may be at the city center but the surroundings are relatively quiet so it will surely be enough to enjoy the scenery.

Location: 10min walk from Seomun Market Station(Daegu Subway Line 3)
