2016 The 20th Mountain Biseul Azalea Cultural Festival

One of the biggest annual spring festivals of Daegu will be held from April 23 to May 1, 2016.

It is the Mountain Biseul Azalea Cultural Festival, a major regional festival attracting visitors from all over the country.

In April every year, the azalea habitat area near the peak of Mountain Biseul gets dyed entirely deep-pink, which is spreading the ecstatic scenery. It is a just absolutely magnificent view that visitors can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the scene from the mountain top.

The 2016 Mt.Biseul(Biseulsan) Azalea Cultural Festival will feature various events such as street performances, live folk songs, a singing contest, a walkathon that visitors can take part in.

For more information, visitors usually walk about 2hrs from the natural recreation forest entrance to get to the azalea habitat but you can easily get to the habitat by Biseulsan Firefly Electric Car, the Mt.Biseul’s transportation, operating between the natural recreation forest entrance and Daegyeonsa temple. From the Daegyeonsa temple, it only takes about 20mins to the habitat on foot.

• From Dongdaegu Station by Car : 1hr 10mins
• From Dongdaegu Station by Public Transportation : 2 hrs 30mins

- From Daegu : Take bus number 600 or Dalseong5 heading to Biseulsan natural recreation forest  (during weekends only)

- From Daegu national science museum : Take a bus heading to the Biseulan natural recreational forest entrance at the bus stop nearby Daegu national science museum’s temporary parking lot. (Bus running from 9:00am to 18:00pm during the festival weekends only)
