You can ride either a train or a bus to get to Daegu from other regions but buses are sometimes more operated than trains in a few regions.

Buses connecting Daegu and other regions can be divided into two :
Express bus, and Intercity bus.
Moreover, you will have different destinations depending on what you ride, express bus or intercity bus, when heading to other regions from Daegu.

1. Express bus
There are ‘Ilban’ Express buses (ordinary) and ‘Woodeung’ Express buses (premium). The premium bus has wider seats than that of the ordinary and is more frequently operated in evenings.

All the express bus terminals, except Seodaegu express bus terminal, are located next to DongDaegu Train Station (located within 100 meters of each other).
They provide express bus service to various regions throughout Korea.

2. Intercity bus
Express buses operate between the distant cities, such as Seoul and Daegu.
However, intercity buses connect to the regions which are smaller and more rural areas. Moreover, their fee is usually lower than that of the express service.

Tickets can be bought on-the-spot, or reserved online.
However, it is better to reserve the ticket in advance during peak seasons such as Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) and Seolnal (New Year’s day in lunar calendar) since it would be difficult to find a seat.
