A great place to go with the family in Daegu is Duryu Park. 
The easiest way to get there is to go to Duryu Park subway station and follow the signs at the exit. 

People of all ages can go and do a little hiking, play sports, check out the many different species of plants, and have a picnic on the grass with nature on a nice, spring day. 

I found it particularly interesting that I could play tennis, soccer, and other sports using modern facilities while also being able to meet new friends both Korean and foreign.

There is also an outdoor concert area where music festivals are played throughout the year with a real carnival atmosphere. 
This place had a real international feel to it and there were all kinds of people visiting; Koreans & foreigners. 

For adults there is the peace and tranquility of a walk with nature, but for families with children, there are rides, play areas and large open spaces for kids to enjoy themselves.

Refreshments are also in abundance with Korean snacks, coffee shops and most importantly for a hot summer’s day, ice-cream stores. 

Duryu Park is only a few stops away from the main Banworldang center of Daegu’s subway line, and it is a nice getaway from the business of city life.

 

I also caught up with a foreigner from America who said that since he has been living in Daegu, daily jogs in Duryu Park have become part of his daily routine and it always gives him fresh energy due to its spacious land and beautiful landscape.
