2013 Chickin-Beer International Festival! Awesome line-up of chicken and beer!

Thinking chicken? Then Daegu is the place to be!

In the heat of summer, cool off at the 'International Chicken-Beer Festival'!

Daegu is the hometown of fried or roast chicken, because Korea's largest chicken brands such as Mexicana, Pericana, Cheogatjip and etc all took their first step to success in Daegu.

With this in mind, Daegu, in hopes of reviving and promoting chicken businesses, is holding a festival for one of Korea's favorite combo chicken and beer. The festival has been held annually since 2010.

This year, the festival will be sponsored by the city of Quingdao in China, a place known for its annual Beer Festival. It will be a historic event where the combination of the Quingdao beer festival and Daegu's chicken will create an event like no other.

Get ready for the chicken beer party in Daegu, the city of festivals.

When? July 18th ~ 21st

  1. Three years ago my good friend and I started an evening we called Chicken Tuesday. It takes place on in our home towns of Haenam and Yeongam. Each area 'plays host' to the other at one of their local chicken restaurants on each alternate Tuesday.

The majority of the current 37 members are North Americans but we also have representatives from all over the world including our Korean friends, a member from Vietnam and a strong a UK team.

Over the years special "Mopko Chicken Tuesdays" would be arranged to take advantage of mid-week public holidays and due to its popularity Chicken Tuesday even expanded to form a new syndicate in the island town of Jindo, sadly this only lasted for around 8 months.

Now after 3 years many of us are moving to pastures new and we are proud to report that The 2013 International Chicken Beer Festival in Daegu will host the final ever "Chicken Tuesday" (we know it's on Saturday but you get the point.) 17 members from the south-west will make the pilgrimage and history will be made.

    See you there.
