Daegu Yangyeongsi Herb Medicine Festival

Last May 3, 2011 Daegu Yangyeongsi Herb Medicine Festival was held in Namsung Street, Jung-gu, Daegu. 

Festival started from west gate of Yangyeongsi(Seomoon) and there were various herbal & traditional culture experiences such as making herbal soap making, taking a restorative herb medicine, herb cutting and packaging.

Also, there were experience programs to learn tradition like Korean amusement (arrow-throwing, top-spining), drawing portrait & caricature and moxibustion.

Especially, herbal flower hand painting was very popular by children and herbal flower nail-art was supported by mothers.

Also lots of delicious foods were ready in the festival. Foods made by students, the oriental medicine department of the Daegu University were displayed.

The elders were fond of drinking herbal sample tea which is little bit sweetened.

We could enjoy 10 tastes of Daegu in the food market.
Daegu’s traditional foods like Gukbap, Bossam, Haejangguk, Suyuk, Napjak mandu and Bulro makguli were very popular amongst citizens.
