Lanterns Dongadaesa Temple

Dongdaesa is a Buddhist temple, that it is famous in Daegu for the lanterns festival that is lit on Buddha's birthday every year. This year it was on the 14th of May.

It is a colorful event where lanterns are lit to celebrate the Buddhist tradition Lanterns colors are red, green, purple and yellow. Colors are associated with tranquility, ascension, the infinite, purity, and healing. Over all, it is accurate to say that colors represent wisdom and compassion.

In the park there is a lake which is also illuminated by lotus-shaped lanterns.

On the site you can see various types of lanterns and floats shaped like dragons. The floats are very well designed, in fact, the dragons spit fire and smoke, and also they change color over time.
