Korea is taking its place in the world tourism stage by warmly welcoming visitors from around the world through the Visit Korea Year Campaign, held from 2010 through to the end of 2012.

The Visit Korea Year Campaign aims to make all of the delightful elements of Korea even more accessible and exciting, and to make sure you get the reception you deserve upon arrival.

Enjoy the ultimate in eco-tourism as you trek through Jeju Island, formed a million years ago by a volcanic eruption. In addition to Hallasan Mountain, the island is adorned with almost 400 oreum or parasitic cones, each with their own special characteristics. Jeju Island was named a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2002, UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007, and a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2010. Take in the Jeju’s stunning natural features up close while on the move at the Jeju Olle Walking Festival.

Held in the 1000 year capital of the Silla Dynasty is sure to surround yourself in ancient Korean culture through a visit to one of the many historic sites in the area, and the set of the internationally popular Queen Seondeok Drama.

Watch as the sky light up in radiant colors against the nation’s first 2 level bridge, Gwangandaegyo, during the Busan International Fireworks Festival. This fascinating multimedia show was originally held as part of celebrations for the 2005 APEC Conference. Its immense popularity has allowed it to grow into an internationally acclaimed festival attracting 1.3 million members a year.

Get a taste of authentic Korean food this October in the culinary capital of Korea, Jeonju. A variety of scrumptious delights await you at the Korea Food Festival, including Jeonju bibimbap, marinated galbi ribs, and even the incredibly healthy food from Buddhist temples. The festival is held over four days and features an enormous bibimbap making event, hansik food tour, an exhibition on medicinal food, demonstrations on how to make things like spicy gochujang paste and glutinous rice cake and so much more!
